Description

 EPA-DHA Liquid contains fish oil in its natural TG (triglyceride) form and features a concentrated, purified source of omega-3 fatty acids from sustainably sourced, cold water fish. Each teaspoon provides a total of 725 mg EPA and 425 mg DHA. The pleasant tasting liquid formulation allows for flexible dosing from infants through adults. EPA-DHA Liquid is molecularly distilled and filtered to ensure purity and to maximize the removal of metals, pesticides, PCBs, and other contaminants. DeltaGold® tocotrienols are added to enhance stability of the product. We test every batch for freshness, microbial contaminants, quality measures, heavy metals, environmental toxins and pesticides. Omega-3 fatty acids can support healthy cardiovascular, immune, and joint pain.

Research

Omega 3 fatty acids have a key role in children’s growth and development, particularly in:

  • the central nervous system, showing improvements in different parameters of cognitive function;
  • visual development, resulting in a better visual acuity
  • cardiovascular health, improving blood pressure
  • the immune system, protecting the child against allergies in early childhood

This study showed that children’s mental processing scores at age 4 significantly correlated with maternal EPA and DHA intake during pregnancy and lactation:

Maternal supplementation with very-long-chain n-3 fatty acids during pregnancy and lactation augments children's IQ at 4 years of age

High plasma levels of DHA in the mother and her breastmilk are directly correlated with better growth and development of the brain and visual system in children

This animal study suggests that repletion of DHA can improve spatial task performance and behavioral performance, signifying that supplementation of DHA may reverse the adverse effects of DHA deficiency during neurodevelopment:

Recovery of brain docosahexaenoate leads to recovery of spatial task performance

DHA has been recognized as essential for proper functioning of neuronal cells, influencing both brain and eye development and function:

Children ages 9-12 months supplemented with fish oil have shown positive impact on attention scores in a free play test as well as a decrease in systolic blood pressure

Fish oil-supplementation from 9 to 12 months of age affects infant attention in a free-play test and is related to change in blood pressure

4 year olds supplemented with 400mg/day of DHA for 4 months showed positive association between blood DHA levels and tests of listening comprehension and vocabulary acquisition
