These convenient freezer cubes serve as an amazing way to pack a nutritional punch into your smoothies, bone broth, and other recipes by adding a variety of leafy greens in one dense cube. I love leafy greens, in fact, every Naturally Nourished Food-as-Medicine protocol emphasizes the importance of aiming for 2-3 cups of leafy greens daily.
This is because greens are nutrient dense and provide a variety of antioxidants and phytocompounds that uniquely support health at high volume with low calorie density. I add in Spirulina and Chlorella to provide trace minerals and aid as a natural chelator for toxins such as glyphosate, microplastics, and even heavy metals.
Beyond nutrient density, I love making this recipe at least twice a month to have cubes on hand and love that now no greens ever get wasted in my home. I add these cubes to bone broth with coconut milk or heavy cream and all of a sudden have cream of greens soup or into a bolognese sauce for an amplified spaghetti. The most common use is in my Green Smoothies with Whey Protect as a daily meal.
